About the Broads

"This will hopefully be the anchor of a new biomedical corridor in the region, where the nation's most cutting-edge research is conducted by some of the brightest minds in science."— Eli Broad
In February 2006, Eli and Edythe Broad created the Eli and Edythe Broad Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research at USC with a gift of $30 million to the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California.
A renowned business leader who built two Fortune 500 companies over a 50-year career, Eli Broad is the founder-chairman of both SunAmerica Inc. and KB Home (formerly Kaufman and Broad Home Corporation).
Today, Broad and his wife, Edythe, are focused on philanthropy. The Broad family's commitment to philanthropy and community is both deep and wide-ranging and includes ongoing leadership roles in education, art, science and civic development.
The Keck School of Medicine of USC is grateful for the Broads' support to help create a cornerstone of biomedical research into stem cells and therapeutics.
